Zamfara Govt Pencils Down  144 PHCs For Renovation

The Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board would soon embark on a major renovation project to improve healthcare facilities across the state.

Information Officer
Ministry of Health, Suleiman Isah, (ANIPR) and made available to Analyzer news on Wednesday.

Isa stated that, the Executive Secretary Dr. Husaini Yakubu announced that, the 144 primary health centers (PHCs) woud  be renovated to enable the people of the state to access health facilities within their localities.

Dr. Yakubu said, the purpose of his visit to PHC Yandoton Daji in Tsafe Local Government Area was to assess the need for facility improvements such as renovations, equipment upgrades, and expansions.

He said, “The renovation effort will be a collaborative undertaking. The IMPACT Project will renovate 62 health facilities, Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board (ZSPHCB) will renovate 4 health facilities, and the Constituency Project will renovate 18 health facilities, while the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) will renovate 11 health facilities.”

Yakubu emphasized the importance of dedicated healthcare workers and warned that absenteeism would not be tolerated.

“If you cannot comply, please resign, as many people are eager to join the civil service,” he said.

“Henceforth, any officer found to be negligent will face disciplinary action.”

The executive secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Dauda Lawal for his support of the state’s health sector and commended Commissioner of Health Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun for her leadership.
