The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given a pass mark to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the fight against banditry in the Northwest Zone.
The party has also commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies operating in the region over the successes being recorded.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the party Yusuf Idris said the party has completely aligned with President Tinubu for giving the wherewithal to the military to smoothly carry out the operation which is being coordinated by the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
The party has joined other good citizens in celebrating these landmark achievements credited to the Tinubu led administration that saw the recent elimination of two notorious bandit kingpins son and brother, Bello Turji’s and Adamu Alero’s respectively.
According to the party, the military operations of Fansan Yamma which was launched last year in Sokoto by the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle and the Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Gwabi Musa was yielding positive results where dangerous bandit leader Halilu Sububu was eliminated and his boys were neutralised.
“The recent clearing of Bello Turji’s hiding camps where his son and some of his close lieutenants we’re killed, is quite impressive and has further increased confidence of the military among the citizens”.
“We urge them to sustain the air and ground offensive against the bandits for peace to fully return in our state, the northwest region and the nation”.

According to APC, the President’s declaration to fully clamp down on the criminals and end their activities in the year 2025 was yielding positive result right from the first month of the year.
The party expressed optimism that, the recent achievements so far recorded by the security personnel was an indication that the fight against banditry would soon be over.
The party finally called on all peace loving citizens to continue to praise, support and give credible information for the military to easily track down all the vicious gangs including their sponsors and informants to pave way to the return of complete peace.
