Funtua Inland Dry port station begins operations

The Funtua Inland Dry Port station commenced operations as the first
container carrying goods and services from China that were imported by sea arrived to the station
safely and according to the law of the land.

The head of the National Commission for the Prevention of Fraud, Katsina State Alh. Abba Aji Idris led the launch of the opening of the station on Monday.

Abba Aji stated that the station will be sustain for the economic growth and development of the state.

He called on importers or those interested in importing goods and services to ensure that they get their goods as long as they follow due process.

In his speech, the Managing Director of the station Alh. Ahmed Ibrahim Dodo stated that the station will soon compete with any other Dry port station for the socioeconomic growth of the state.

Ahmed Dodo further explained that there are technics and principles that the station followed to ensure it’s constant operation.

The Managing Director stated that goods will soon be transported to neighboring countries, such as Chad, Niger, Benin Republic.

Alhaji Ahmed Dodo added that “It is an opportunities to create this station, but the most importantly, it will create jobs for many young people, even if they do not have formal education”.

During the commissioning of the station, officials of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Agency, Alhaji Tijjani Dan Dutse, representative of Alh. Umar Mutallab, one of the founders of the port, Hajiya Halimatu Usman, representative of the head of the Ports Authority were in attendance.
