Officials from the Zamfara State Contributory Health Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA) have on Friday visited the World Health Organization (WHO) Zamfara field office to reinforce their partnership and collaboration.
In a statement, the Information officer, ministry of health, Suleiman Isah Gusau said, ZAMCHEMA recognized WHO as a key partner supporting its operations through system strengthening, capacity building, improved quality of care, and awareness campaigns.
The statement added that, the Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of ZAMCHEMA, Dr. Iliyasu Ahmed Saleh, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration.

He said, “It is good to keep working together as partners in progress”.
The WHO state Coordinator, Dr. Raji appreciated ZAMCHEMA’s commitment, particularly during the development of the State Work Plan/Annual Operational Plan (SWAp AOP) 2025.
He stressed the need for sustaining the partnership to ensure that the objectives of Governor Dauda Lawal’s “rescue mission” agenda for the health sector of Zamfara State is achieved.
The Coordinator advised ZAMCHEMA to facilitate the regular quality of Care review meetings with healthcare providers to monitor quality of services provided to enrollee.
He assured the ZAMCHEMA team of WHO’s continuee support in implementing its mandate which is part of the Organization’s Country Cooperation Strategy 2023 -2027 with the second strategic goal to ” Improve Equity and Quality in Health System Coverage and Financial Protection through support to the delivery of integrated people centered health services across the life course”
The Director of Planning, Research and Statistics at ZAMCHEMA Abdullahi Mande Gusau, expressed gratitude to the WHO team for their sacrifices and immense support to the agency and the state at large.
