A High Court one sitting in Gusau, Zamfara state capital has discharged and acquitted one Nasiru Garba popularly known as Nasiru More, who had been on trial for several years.
Nasiru was detained and arraigned before the court for alleged offences of inciting public disturbances, forgery and given false information to a public officer in the state.
Delivering the judgement, the Presiding Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu said the court has discharged and acquitted Nasiru Garba after cross examinations on all the alleged offences he was accused of in the state.
She said, “Nasiru Garba who has been standing trial is not found guilty of the alleged offences against him”.
He is therefore on this day discharged and acquitted”.
Meanwhile, Counsel to Nasiru More, Barrister A. A Jibril counsel to Nasiru in a joyful manner thanked God for the successful release of his client after over three years struggle in the court.
Barrister Jibril urged people to be mindful of allegations against citizens of the country.
He thanked God that the Court has been around to vindicate who ever is innocent of any offence.
He however stressed that there were so many factors that contributed to the delay of final determination of the case adding that, “It might not be unconnected with the problems from from the witnesses and some time from the side of the lawyers”.
