Bandits have on Wednesday night stormed Gidan-damo village in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state where they killed three persons, injured seven and abducted eight others.
An indigene of the area, Umar Sani told Analyzer news that, the bandits who were on motorcycles arrived the village immediately after the night prayer (Magrib) and instantly opened fire on those they came across with.
Sani said, three people were killed on the spot and seven others sustained serous injuries.
He further explained that, other people of the village ran helter-skelter to the bush for their lives.
According to him, the bandits later moved from house to house where they kidnapped four women with their four children and went back to the forest.
He said, “We just finished Magrib prayers after seven o’clock last Wednesday night when we heard several gunshots”.
“Before we realized what was happening, we just saw a group of armed bandits carrying sophisticated weapons and shooting sporadically”.
“They shot three people to death on the spot and also injured seven others”.
“They also went from house to house and abducted four women with their four babies and went back to the forest”.
Sani maintained that, the security personnel who were alerted on what was happening arrived the village after the bandits have left the area.
All efforts to speak to the spokesperson of the state police command ASP Yazid Abubakar failed as he did not respond to phone calls after several attempts.
Meanwhile, the bandits are on the rampage in the state in their attempts to stop farming activities.
