Governor Nasir Idris of kebbi state has approved the retirement age of teachers from sixty to sixty-five years.
The Commissioner for Basic Education, Hajiya Halima Mohammed Bande disclosed this to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi shortly after the Weekly State Executive Council Meeting.
She said to this end teachers who worked for thirt-five years in the teaching profession had the opportunity of reaching forty years before retirement.
Halima Bande disclosed that necessary paper work would be presented to the Ministry of Justice to prepare a bill for onward submission to the State House of Assembly
The Commissioner said once the bill becomes a law the Governor would definitely assent to it in order to boost the morale of teachers across the State
