FG urged to declare state of emergency on education

The Federal government have been called open to declare state of emergency in education sector.

The call was made by the National President, College of Education Academic staff Union (COEASU) Dr Smart Olugbeko during the union’s 10th annual national conference held at Federal College of Education Zaria.

Dr Smart Olugbeko explained that the Federal government needed to conduct lead assessment of Federal Colleges of Education across the country to make them productive.

He said assessment would support the government to fish out issues hindering the development of education across the country.

He stressed the need for the Federal government to take the responsibilities of teaching practice fees to reduce the burden by parents.

In an addressed, the Provost Federal College of Education Zaria Dr Sulaiman Balarabe said the college was already on degitilization project aimed at migrating from analog to information communication technology .

The chairman College of Education Academic Staff Union COEASU FCE Zaria chapter Dr, Ismail Ubale Alhaji said the Union remained dedicated to struggle for Union members’ right at any giving situation.

The 10th annual national conference was attended by all excos of COEASU chairmen ,secretaries and lecturers from north west zone held in federal college of education FCE Zaria.
