Kebbi Gov Idris pays unscheduled visits to Health, Educational facilities

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has paid an impromptu visit to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital and two Secondary Schools in the State Capital to ascertain working and learning conditions of the facilities

While at the Hospital, Governor Idris inspected some sections of the hospital and pledged to look into some challenges facing the hospital as raised by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Zaki Abubakar.

He then announced a donation of N5M to the Hospital before stressing the need for some parts of the health institution to be moved to Kebbi Medical Centre, Kalgo to be named Sir Yahaiya Annex

Earlier, the CMD, Dr Zaki Abubakar had identified inadequate manpower as one of the major challenges affecting the hospital stressing that the hospital had a total of 26 Doctors, 258 Nurses and 260 casual staff and appealed to the governor to urgently intervene

The Governor also visited Government Girls Unity College and Nagari College in Birnin Kebbi where he reaffirmed Government’s resolve to revive the lost glory of learning institutions in the state through infrastructural development and capacity building

He however donated N2m to the teachers of the Girls College and same amount to Nagari College while students of later school got 20 bags of rice and 2 cows to sweeten tfacilities
