Zamfara govt commends humanitarian affairs minister over cash donation to 14 rescued FUG students

Zamfara State Government has commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Betta C Edu for the financial support she offered to the rescued students of the Federal University Gusau.

This was contained in a statement by the Director information of the state Humanitarian and Relief Matters ministry, Bashir Kabir Ahmed and made available to Analyzer news on Tuesday.

The commendation according to the statement came through the Commissioner of Humanitarian and Relief Matters Honourable Salisu Musa Tsafe.

Tsafe said, the Minister has given the sum of N214, 285 to each of the 14 rescued female students.

He said the Minister was in the state during her official visit for the formal commissioning of the 40 Housing Units for IDPs in Gusau and paid a sympathy visit to the students at the Federal University Gusau.

Tsafe explained that the 14 students are from Kogi, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos, Oyo, Cross River and Zamfara States.

He assured that the cordial relationship between Governor Dauda Lawal’s led administration and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation led by Honourable Minister Betta C Edu would continue to yield positive impact on the victims of humanitarian challenges in the state.

The Commissioner appreciated the management of the Federal University Gusau and the parents of the students for their cooperation towards ensuring the support for the students.

It could be recalled that the students were rescued days after the abduction and continued with their studies.
