As the Appeal Court cancelled the governorship election in Zamfara state and ordered for a rerun, Governor Dauda Lawal has expressed optimism that he would still emerge victorious, urging his supporters to remain calm.
Lawal who was addressing thousands of his supporters who converged at the state’s PDP secretariat in Gusau town to welcome him from his trip said, he was not afraid of the rerun election.
He said, “Even if the election will hold hundred times, I will insha Allah emerge victorious”.
“We are happy with the court’s ruling and we are ever ready to face the APC governorship candidate in his home local government”.
Lawal stressed that, Allah has chosen him as the governor of Zamfara state and by God’s grace he would remain so, no matter what the opposition APC members and other hypocrites would do.
“God has chosen me to be the Governor and I don’t think there is anything they can do to change that”.
“We have started well, by paying all entitlements to the civil servants, paying for the WAEC and NECO fees which the previous administration refused to do”
“We have also solved the problem of water scarcity and embarked on construction of township roads in Gusau town, the state capital”.
“We have announced a state of emergency on education sector and by the grace of God, we will rescue the state from disintegration”.
“They are not comfortable with our numerous achievements within shortest possible time”.
He maitained that he would continue to implement people’s oriented projects in order to save the state from disintegration.
Governor Lawal commended the people of the state for their continued support and prayers to his administration, calling on them not to relent in that direction.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation for the support and prayers you have been giving me right from my campaigns and now that I am stirring the affairs of this our dear state”.
“I am assuring you that I will not disappoint you insha Allahu”.
