The Deputy Governor of Kaduna state Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe said the state government would introduce policies and programs that would encourage food security across the state.
The Deputy Governor stated this during a flag off of food fair and exhibition organized by Zaria Metropolitan authority .
Dr Hadiza said the food fair will help to provide platform for local food producers and exchange of ideas .
She commended the management of Zaria Metropolitan authority for organising the food fair aimed at improving the talent of younger generation.
Earlier the Administrator Zaria Metropolitan authority Hajiya Balaraba Aliyu Inuwa said the food fair would promote economic activities of people in the area.
Hajiya balaraba noted that the fair also encouraged food history and innovations.
Also, the chairman Sabon Gari local government area Engineer Muhammad Usman pledged to partner with Zaria Metropolitan authority to improve socioeconomic development of people in the area.
About 50 food vendors and producers participated in the food exhibition.
