The Kebbi State Government has donated 25 Toyota Land Cruisers to security outfits in the state to enhance their capacity in protecting lives and property of the people.
Presenting the vehicles to the heads of security agencies, Governor Nasir Idris, explained that, the gesture was aimed at complimenting and encouraging the efforts of security agencies in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state.
According to Governor idris, the vehicles were meant to encourage the security in combating the current security challenges of bandetry, kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state and therefore urged them to judiciously use the vehicle in that regard
The vehicles purchased at the cost of two billion naira10 out of them were allocated to the Nigeria Police, 6 to Nigeria Army, 4 went to DSS, 3 NSCDC, 1 to Vigilante Group while 1 vehicle was allocated to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security.
Governor Idris, equally revealed that, official vehicles for the 26 Commissioners were also procured and will be distributed to them soon while those of the State Assembly members were on their way to the state capital.
Responding on behalf of the heads of the security agencies, the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Aimionowane, thanked Governor Idris for the gesture and assured to use the vehicles in curbing out crimes and criminality in the state.
