Addressing his supporters who paid him a homage at his residence in Talata-Mafara on Tuesday, Senator Yari said, he would continue to give priority attention to the welfare of the people considering the hardship being experienced in the country due to banditry activities as well as fuel subsidy removal.

Senator Yari however admitted that, most of the problems being experienced in the country were as a result of series of atrocities committed by the people on daily basis, calling on them to repent.

He was of the view that only repentance and constant prayers could bring an end to difficulties being faced in the country, more especially the banditry activities.

He said that governments at all levels have done their very best to end banditry in the country, lamenting however that the menace has defied solution.

He therefore urged all Nigerians to return to God and embark on prayers to seek for a divine intervention against banditry.

He said, many people have turned their backs against the Divine and Holy messages contained in the Qur’an and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) adding that, “This is the reason why we are facing wrath of God.

Yari said, “Imagine how most of the people are running ungodly lives in the society, they lack human feelings, they stopped being good even to their families and neighbours, to the employers and both the governments, religious and traditional leaders”.

“Should we all drop wickedness and other religiously prohibited attitudes, I am certain that Almighty Allah will seize over his punishments we are currently facing in our dear state and nation at large”.

He lamented that, all means of ending banditry either by the use of force or dialogue were done by the governments but yet, the situation is fast deteriorating to the extent that people could not run their legitimate businesses.

“No farming, no trading and other sources of living”. Yari exclaimed.

He further lamented the harsh situation currently being faced by the people which resulted into lack of food to the extent that many people could not secure two meals a day.

He maintained that there was the need for those who have to support those who did not have.
