Security: Gov. Idris joins seven counterparts to launch CGC in Sokoto

The Kebbi State Governor, Comerade Dr Nasir Idris, has joined his counterparts from the North West, Northcentral and Northeast to witness the graduation ceremony of over 2,000 Community Guards Corps (CGC) in Sokoto State.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris said, the ceremony, which took place on Saturday at the Sokoto State Stadium attracted many prominent leaders from across the country.

The launching of CGC was meant to complement the efforts of security agencies serving in the state in combating the persistent cases of insecurity in the state.

In attendance were the Governors of; Kebbi, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Zamfara, Alhaji Dauda Lawal Dare, Benue, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Katsina, Dr Dikko Radda, Jigawa, Alhaji Umar Namadi, Bauchi, Alhaji Bala Mohammed, Kano Engr. Kabir Yusuf and Kaduna, Sen. Uba Sani.

On the governor’s entourage were; the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Head of Service Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, Hon. commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, Commissioner for Justice and State Attorney General, Dr Junaidu Bello Mashall, Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Zayyanu Aliero, Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security and Permanent Secretaries among others.
