The Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara state chapter, Yusuf Idris has described the suspension of the state APC chairman Tukur Danfulani as a plan by some politicians to float a new party for the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf who was reacting to the suspension of the state party chairman, Tukur Danfulani by the ward Exco members of Galadima Ward said, it was a grand plan by some politicians to destroy the APC in order to form a new party.
Idris said, “The party is aware of this type of antics of some politicians who are planning to destroy the party in their plan to float a new one for the 2027 elections”.
“They are trying to create problems in the APC as being done in Kano and many state chapters of the party”.
“We believe their evil plan will fail”.
He therefore drew the attention of the general public to disregard and discountenance a purported suspension of the state chairman of the party, Tukur Umar Danfulani.
Idris maitained that the purported suspension emanated from some disgruntled promoters who paraded themselves as executives of the party in Galadima Ward of Gusau local government area.
He said that the state’s headquarters of the party, the State Working Committee, and the State Executives were not aware of the purported suspension of the chairman, adding that, “Nothing of that nature is true”
Idris explained that the Galadima Ward Exco members did not follow due process in the alleged suspension of the state chairman.
“It should be noted that even if some members have grudges against the chairman, there are constitutional channels and laid down rules and regulations of addressing such grievances that were not followed”.
“Therefore this has invalidated the suspension of the chairman”.
“Moreso, all the claims raised by the discontented persons are baseless and unfounded”.
“They are created to destabilise the unity being enjoyed within the party leadership and members at all levels”. Said Idris
He drew the attention of newsmen and media organizations against rushing to press without verifying issues of this magnitude with the party headquarters in the state.
He lamented that, the paper that contained the purported suspension of the chairman did not have any APC logo or Galadima ward letterhead paper.
“It is an ordinary paper that is used by students of the tertiary institution which clearly demonstrated the dubious act of the suspension”. Idris explained.
He concluded that, “Machinery has been set in motion to investigate those behind the purported suspension in order to maintain peace, law and order in the party”.
