The Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has donated a 41-seater coaster bus to the Federal University of Transportation, Daura in katsina state.
In a statement, the Information and Communication officer of the university, Umar Usman said the bus was delivered to the University on Friday by the Chief Stores Officer, Government House katsina, Malam Bashir Ibrahim.
Speaking on behalf of Katsina State Government, the Chief Stores Officer, Malam Bishir Ibrahim informed the Vice-Chancellor and members of Management that he was at the University to formally hand over the Coaster Bus.
He said, “The donation followed a request for ambulance vehicle and students’ bus by the University.
“The Executive Governor would continue to support the University and education in the state”. Said Ibrahim.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umar Adam Katsayal thanked Governor Radda for his gesture to the University.
“I would like to inform the general public, staff and students that His Excellency, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD has graciously responded to our request and approved a donation of a 41-Seater Coaster Bus to the University.
“The University had previously sent a request to His Excellency and today, God Almighty has made it possible for us to receive a donation of a Toyota Coaster.
“I want to use this opportunity to sincerely appreciate the Executive Governor as well as request you to inform him that the University still expects an Ambulance as it will help us a lot in providing health services for staff and students”, the VC concluded.
