The marauding bandits have finally killed the Sarkin Gobir of Sabon Birni in Sokoto state, Alhaji Mohammed Bawa, after collecting a whooping sum of N60 million and five motorcycles.

Recall that, late Sarkin Gobir had been in captivity for over three weeks where his captors demanded the sum of N500 million for his release.

The deceased was seen in a viral video, asking the general public to save his life and pay the said amount before last Wednesday which was set as the deadline to kill him if the amount was not paid.

Confirming the death of the deceased, one of the family members, Alhaji Shuaibu Gobir, who spoke to VOA Hausa service  maintained that, the team that was sent to deliver the ransom demanded by the bandits discovered that he was killed.

According to Shuaibu, a team only came back with his son while the district head was already buried before they got there.

He said, “The bandits have agreed to collect N60m and five brand new Motorcycles as ransom”.

“We handed over the N60 million to them and went to look for the five motorcycles”.

“Unfortunately however, we were not able to get the brand of the motorcycles they needed which is called, “Boko Haram” on time “.

“We got the motorcycles at last but unfortunately, when we went there to deliver them to the bandits, they told us that, he was dead”.
