The security personnel attached to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state have denied access to the working journalists to cover the 2025 budget presented by the Governor at the state house of assembly complex, Gusau.

The journalists were at the venue of the event as early as nine o’clock on Thursday, waiting for the Governor’s arrival.

But to their utmost dismay, immediately the Governor arrived, they were told by the security operatives to leave the venue in their own interest.

Despite the intervention of the Governor’s Media aide, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the security refused to listen, insisting that the Journalists would not be allowed in the venue.

Idris pleaded with the security personnel to allow journalists carry out their constitutional responsibility, but they refused to respond positively.

The security personnel stood to their ground not allow journalists to enter the Chamber.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Idris pleaded with the angry journalists to take it easy, assuring them that, he would do something about the matter.

“Please take it easy, I know how you feel but I am assuring you that, we will rectify the issue.

At the end of the squabble between the journalists and the security personnel, only Channel TV and TVC reporters were allowed to cover the budget presentation.
