The communities in Maru local government area of Zamfara state have again recorded third bomb explosion in just one week.

The third explosives occurred on Friday morning when a lorry loaded with grains stepped on the bombs allegedly planted by the bandits along Gusau-Dansadau road.

An indigene of the area Mannir Sani who was in the lorry said, the two bombs went off simultaneously, explaining however that, nobody was killed.

Sani said, “I was in the lorry together with other passengers when suddenly an explosive devices believed to have been planted by bandits went of on the road”.

“One of the bombs went off  on the road between Dansadau and Malamawa and another one also occurred on Malele road, all in the Dansadau district”.

He said they were  going to the Dansadau weekly market on Friday to buy grains when the incident happened.

This was the third explosion in five days in the Dansadau Emirate, occurring on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.

It could be recalled that the first explosive occurred last Sunday killing a driver and destroyed his vehicle.

The second one occurred last Wednesday when 12 people were reportedly killed.

All efforts to speak with the state’s police commissioner Mohammed Shehu failed as he did not pick up his phone after several attempts.

He was also unable to respond to a text message sent to him at the time of filing in this report.
