The Zamfara state commissioner of health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun has warned that anyone found tampering with the fortified milk given to malnourished children by the state government will face the wrath of the law.

The commissioner gave the warning while flagging off the distribution of fortified milk to all health facilities across the state.

Dr Nafisa emphasised the importance of the milk, which is enriched with essential nutrients to combat malnutrition and improve child health.

She said the milk was intended for the children, adding that she would not tolerate any actions that could jeopardise their health.

The Commissioner also made it clear that the fortified milk is not for sale.

She said, “Health workers and security personnel alike are prohibited from selling this milk,” she said.

“Anyone found doing so will be held accountable for their actions.”
