The Kabiru Marafa’s APC faction in Zamfara state has expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of former Governor Yari’s faction of the party as caretaker committee members.
Speaking to Analyzer news in a telephone conversation, the Publicity Secretary of the defunct Marafa’s faction of the party, Alhaji Bello Bakyasuwa said, the decision to appoint Yari’s loyalists only as caretaker committee members by the national caretaker committee was a serious mistake that could still lead to crisis within the party in the state.
Bakyasuwa said, “although, we still respect the National committee of the party under the leadership of Mai Mala Buni, We are not satisfied with the committee’s arrangement in Zamfara”.
Bakyasuwa asserted that, what the national committee should have done to end the lingering crisis in Zamfara state was to spread the membership of the state caretaker committee across the two warring factions of Senator Marafa and former Governor Yari.
“The caretaker committee members should have been selected from both factions of Senator Marafa and former Governor Yari so that, the lingering crisis could be finally addressed”.
He Maintained that, the present arrangement for appointing only those from Yari’s faction to lead the caretaker committee was only aimed at creating more serious problems within the party in the state.
According to Bakyasuwa, ,”if the issue is not addressed in good time, the chances of the party to win in any future election can never be guaranteed”.
Bakyasuwa however declared that, the Senator Marafa’s faction of the party would continue to be loyal and obedient to the National Caretaker Committee and would remain in the party, no matter the challenges.
