Former Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari has cautioned Governor Bello Matawalle to be careful with political sycophants who would lead him to astray for their selfish interest.
Addressing thousands of APC supporters from Zamfara Central Zone in his resident in Talata-Mafara on Friday, Yari said, there were lots of political sycophants currently surrounding Governor Matawalle whose intention was only on self aggrandizement.
“I am calling on Governor Matawalle to be careful with some politicians who are closed to him, pretending that they are there to help him succeed. Most of them are there on selfish interest.
“Yari maintained that, he has no grudge against Governor Matawalle’s to APC, stressing howeverthat, the only mistake made by Matawalle was joining the party from Abuja.
“When I heard that he was going to defect to our party, I thought that he would look for us to show him the way forward”.
“But unfortunately, he was misled by somebody in Abuja who will want to use the opportunity for personal reasons”.
Yari stated that, he was one of the founding fathers of the APC, adding that, nobody would hijack the party from him no matter what.
Yari who believd that, he has made mistake in 2019 general elections said “We will try to correct our past mistake to recupture the state’.
He called on APC members in the state to remain calm and united, concluding that, “we will reclaim the state come 2023.
