The Zamfara state Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah psc+ accompanied by Police Tactical Commanders visited Gusau Central Correctional facility to assess the existing security arrangements with a view to averting any security threats at the Centre.
In a statement, the public relations officer of the command SP Mohammed Shehu said the visit was part of the command’s efforts of ensure safety and security of all Correctional facilities in the State in view of the prevailing insecurity challenges in the country.
The Commissioner, while going round the facility assured the Comptroller of Correctional Service that, the Police was fully committed to the security and safety of all Correctional centres in the state.
The commissioner added that, his office was always open to approve any security request regarding Correctional facilities.
The Comptroller of Correctional Service while responding thanked the Commissioner of Police for his Proactiveness and enthusiasm to protect correctional facilities against any form of attack by unscrupulous elements.
He assures the CP that, his office would be keeping in touch with the Police Command in a bid to ensure Security of Correctional Centres in the State.
“Similar visit will be reolicated to other correctional facilities outside Gusau town, the State capital.” Concluded Shehu.
