A Senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial zone, Senator Sahabi Ya’ u said he would continue with the good work he had started in order to uplift the living standard of his people if elected again in 2023 general elections.
Ya,u who contested unopposed for Zamfara North Senatorial zone under the platform of the APC said, he would continue from where he stopped during his tenure at the national Assembly.
He maitained that, he would give priority attention to security issues, education, rural development and welfare of his people.
“If elected in 2023, I will do my very best to protect the interest of my people, particularly in the area of security, education and welfare”.
He commended the delegates who elected him at the primary election and promised that he would not let them down.
He also thanked Governor Bello Mattawalle, former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa for the reconciliation process, calling on all APC supporters to bury their differences for the success of the party come 2023.
Speaking earlier, the former Governor of the state Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi commended the delegates for displaying high sense of maturity and commitment during the primary election.
He urged them to maitain the tempo in the forthcoming 2023 general elections for the success of the party.
Shinkafi called on all APC supporters in the state to continue supporting the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle to move the state forward.
He maitained that, Matawalle could have performed wonderfully during his first tenure if not for economic meltdown caused by Corona, coupled with political instability as a result of internal party crises.
Shinkafi however thanked Allah for allowing the warring leaders of the party to reconcile, expressing optimism that, the state could now see remarkable changes.
The returning officer of the party sent to the state by the APC national headquarters, Sheikh Musa Annasawi said the election was conducted in an orderly manner.
He charged the APC members in the state to remain resolute for the success of the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Some stakeholders present during the election included, former Governor Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi, Right Honourable Nasiru Muazu Magarya, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, Hon Lawal M. Liman, Hon. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, Hon Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, the APC Elders committee chairman and Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Makaman Kaura.
