There was a melodrama at the National Assembly Abuja today when the Senate President Ahmed Lawan refused to allow the motion to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari to be heard.

It was reported that some Senators walked out on the Senate President Ahmad Lawan, as he allegedly refused the Minority Leader, Senator Philip Aduda to lead the motion on the impeachment of the President Muhammadu Buhari.

Aduda and some other senators of the Peoples Democratic Party then walked out of the plenary.

The lawmakers that were not happy with the worsening security situation in the country had planned to impeach Buhari but their plan was averted by the Senate President.

It was learnt that at the commencement of the plenary on Tuesday, the lawmakers questioned the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on why the issue of insecurity was not in the Order Paper.

But the Senate President was not able to give them a satisfactory answer, as such, they planned to impeach Buhari for failure to end the insecurity challenges in the country.
