The chairman, Zamfara state Committee on Prosecution of Banditry and Related Offences, Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi said, based on intelligence reports made available to the state government, some members of Boko Haram and ISWAP were sighted within some territories of Zamfara state.
Wambai who stated this during a press conference in Gusau said 60motorcycles allegedly belonging to members of Boko Haram were sighted within Danjibga and Kunchin Kalgo villages in Tsafe local government areas of the state .
He also said, “Even members of ISWAP are beginning to regroup along the forests of Zamfara state noting that, there is no way government of Zamfara will fold its arms and allow these dangerous groups of terrorists to start operating in Zamfara state”.
“There are some information that can be made public and there are those that should be left indoor for the government and indeed all the actors to act accordingly”.
He stated that, people coming from Bukkuyum and Anka could bear witness that the security situation was getting too alarming, and the Governor needed to act speedily before it was too late.
On the Saturday’s incident where over 20 people were shot, Wambai said to the best of his knowledge security operatives had effected arrest of many suspects and dangerous arms were recovered and as such stated that soonest, they would make their findings public.
“And people will be informed of who is responsible for the Saturday’s shooting during the PDP rally”.
