Zamfara Anti Thuggery Committee Gets New Scribe

Governor Bello Mattawalle of Zamfara state has appointed Alhaji Haruna Isa Bukkuyum as the new Secretary of Zamfara State Anti Thuggery Committee.

Speaking to newsmen on the new development, the chairman of the committee, Alhaji Bello Soja Bakyasuwa described the appointment of the new Secretary as a blessing to the committee, considering his track record of service.

He charged the new Secretary to discharge his duty diligently for the overall development of the state.

“I urge you to use your wealth of experience in the fight against all forms of thuggery, drug abuse and other related cases”.

Shading more light on the activities of the Anti thuggery committee, Bakyaauwa said, “The Anti Thuggery Committee was established on the existing law No 2 of Zamfara state Executive Order”.

“Part of the committee’s job is to make sure that we fight thuggery, abuse of drugs and other related criminal activities within the state”.

“We are in political campaign era at the moment, as such, we have a herculean task ahead of us because this is the time when thuggery and drug abuse are always on the increase”.

“We will not relent in our efforts to fight the menace so as to make our state to be more peaceful than other states in the country”.

He however expressed disgust over the recent violation of the executive order by the People’s Democratic party (PDP) who went ahead and organized a political rally despite the ban by the state government.

“Just of recent, the state government has banned all political gathering due to lingering insecurity challenges but unfortunately, the opposition PDP has violated the order and failed to recognize the state government’s law”.

“In fact this generated so many things both within and outside the state”.

Bakyasuwa maitained that, his committee would henceforth seriously monitor the political thuggery from all the political parties, adding that, “We will deal with political thugs no matter the

 party they belong to”.

He maitained that, his committee has adequate number of representation from all the security agencies in the state, stressing that, they will work together for the eradication of all forms of social vices in the state.

He solicited for the full support and cooperation from members of the public in the fight against thuggery, drug abuse and other related cases.
