2023: Our votes only for those ready to implement Sharia– Zamfara Islamic organizations

The Zamfara state Joint Youths Islamic organizations have affirmed that, they will only vote for candidates who are ready to implement the Sharia legal system and safeguard the interest of Islamic religion.

Addressing a press conference on 23rd year anniversary of Sharia declaration in Zamfara state on Thursday, the chairman of the groups, Malam Sanusi Mohammed Kotorkoshi said, they have already made up their minds to vote for only  who would implement Sharia and safeguard the interest of Islam.

“We at the Joint Youths Islamic organizations want to categorically inform the politicians that our votes are are only meant for those that are ready to implement the Sharia and safeguard the interest of Islamic religion”.

“This is our stand and nothing more, nothing less”.

He maitained that, when Sharia was introduced in some states the level of corruption and crime rates have reduced to the barest minimum, lamenting however that, all these have become history because the Sharia legal system has been abandoned.

He said, “But as time goes on, the level of Sharia implementation has started to pizzle out, as such, we are now witnessing the repercussions which includes high level of insecurity, corruption and mistrust between the leaders and the led “.

“So we here at the Joint Youths Islamic organizations, we feel it is high time to review our stride and wake up from our slumber in terms of Sharia implementation both at individuals, collective and at government level so that we can get back to the good old days”

Kotorkoshi also drew the attention of the politicians to play politics devoid of rancor, thuggery and threat to life, properties and honor of all with free and fair elections in the country.

Many speakers at the occasion such as the special adviser to Governor Bello Mattawalle on Islamic organizations and Quranic schools welfare, Dr Atiku Balarabe and the chairman of Jumuat masques Imams represented by Dr. Sadiq Sambo also called on the Muslims in the country to utilize their votes in voting for those who would help in the implementation of Sharia legal system.
