Terrorists kill two, abduct scores, set market ablaze in Zamfara

Terrorists have killed two people, abducted several others and set ablaze Gidan-goga market in Maradun local government area of Zamfara state.

An indigene of the area Mohammed Musa told our Reporter that, the merciless terrorists who were on motorcycles set ablaze the market last Wednesday, destroying items worth millions of Naira.

“They also killed two people and abducted several others, while many people sustained serous injuries”. Said Musa.

He said, “The terrorists arrived the market when businesses were going on and began to shoot sporadically”.

“This has caused serious commotion as people ran helter skelter for their dear lives as a result of which  many have sustained serous injuries”.

Musa sai, “The bandits later set the market on fire and moved to the forest with the people they have abducted”.

He maitained that, the number of those abducted was yet to be ascertained because most of them were not from the village.

“Most of them came to the market from various places, as such, we are yet to confirm the number of abductees, but they might be more than 30”. Concluded Musa.

The spokesperson of the state police command SP Mohammed Shehu could not be reached on phone for comment at the time of filing in this report.
