Zamfara police command rescues seven kidnap victims

The Zamfara state police command has rescued six women and a child abducted by terrorists in Kada-mutsa village of Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state.

This was contained in a press release by the spokesperson of the state police command SP Mohammed Shehu and made available to Analyzer news on Friday.

The six kidnapped women rescued by the police

Shehu said the victims were rescued by the police tactical operatives in collaboration with vigilante groups who acted on intelligence information regarding their abduction.

He said, “On November 25th 2022, Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with Vigilante acted on intelligence information regarding the abduction of Six women and a 1 year old child by bandits terrorist at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi LGA on 24th November, 2022”. 

“The Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt”. 

Shehu maintained that the victims were taken to the hospital for medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over their families. 

The Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf commended the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation and congratulated the victims for regaining their freedom.

Kolo Yusuf reiterated the command’s continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities.

 He promised to apprehend criminal elements who were committing heinous crimes across the state.
