Thousands of APC supporters converged at Zurmi town, the headquarters of Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state on Saturday to witness the campaign rally of Governor Bello Matawalle’s second term in office.
The rally which was held on Saturday was witnessed by the three former civilian governors, Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura, Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi and Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar.
Also in attendance were, Senator Sahabi Ya,u Kaura, Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi and Aminu Sani Jaji.
All the APC contestants for Zamfara North senatorial zone were also present.
Speaking at the campaign rally, Governor Bello Matawalle informed the gathering that as part of his administration’s effort to provide quality education to all nooks and crannies of the state, he approved the construction of College of Nursing Sciences in Zurmi town, promising that, the construction work would begin as soon as possible.
Matawalle also promised to provide job opportunities to the teeming youths in the state who are currently redundant.
“I am assuring you that if you give me second term mandate as Governor I will provide more dividend of democracy, put more effort in the fight against banditry, provide education and potable drinking water”. Said Matawalle.
In his speech, the chairman gubernortorial campaign council for Governor Matawalle’s second term bid, Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar has called on all eligible voters across the state and beyond who have no permanent Voters Card to go to any Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) office to collect the cards.
Yari said, the greatest weapon for any eligible voter to posses was the Permanent Voters Card.
According to him it was only through the possession of a voter card, that someone could vote for a candidate of his choice.
Yari expressed optimism that APC would win all the seats in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
“I am exited that all these crowd of people who gathered here are our party supporters”.
