The Joint Youth Islamic Organisations Zamfara state chapter has called on the Kano state government to hasten the killing of a Kano based blasphemer, Abdul Jabbar Kabara who was sentenced to death by hanging.

Recall that, a Kano Upper Shariah Court has in December last year sentenced the embattled Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara to death by hanging for blasphemy.

In a press conference held in Gusau on Thursday, the chairman of the organisations, Engineer Sanusi Mohammed Usman Kotorkoshi said, the execution of Abdul Jabbar was the only option to douse the tension of Muslims in Kano state in particular and the country in general.

Kotorkoshi said the case of blasphemy has always been a serious matter that could ignite trouble in the entire world if not quickly addressed by the constituted authorities.

He therefore called on Kano state government to hasten the implementation of the court’s verdict on Abdul Jabbar to avoid possible break of law and order.

“We are calling on the Kano state government to pursue the case to whatever level it takes as Muslim Ummah are assiduously waiting to see the day when AbdulJabbar will be hanged publicly as a lesson to others who have the same intention”.

“To the would be- blasphemers, AbdulJabbar should be a lesson for them, as cases of blasphemy has not only been settled by Islamic law but even the Supreme court of Nigeria has adjudged death penalty for blasphemy”.

Kotorkoshi however commended Kano state government under the leadership of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for heeding to all advices given by the Joint Youth Islamic organisations.

He equally commended Justice Alkali Sarki Yola for his justifiable judgement on December 15, 2023 that condemned AbdulJabbar Nasiru Kabara to death by hanging for the blasphemy.
