The Concerned Citizens of Zamfara state have petitioned the Honourable Minister of Education Malan Adamu Adamu, over the refusal of the Federal College Of Education Technical Gusau governing council, and the Acting Provost of the college Dr, Bello Umar, to obey a Court Order, in respect of cancellation of interview result.

The petiton was signed by Muhammed Idris Kaura, on behalf of the concerned citizens and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

The complaint was also addressed to the permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Education Abuja, and The chairman National Commission for Colleges of Education of Nigeria, respectively.

The complaint reads as follows:-

“With due respect sir, it has become necessary to write and intimate you of the seriousness of the FCET Gusau situation with regards to the appointment of a substantive provost, it is evidently clear that governing council is dragging its Feet on the issue and deliberately creating a situation that will perpetuate the acting provost on the seat.

“The recent event which surprised everyone is the flagrant disrespect of the pending case filed before the Fedral High Court Gusau, in suit No, FHC/GS/CS/41/2003 in respect to the issue of cancellation of an interview result.

“It is surprising because every responsble person is expected to respect and obey the Court of law, most especially if that person is aware of the proceedings and fully represented by a Counsel as in the instant case, but yet FCET Gusau governing council and Acting Provost Dr, Bello Umar closed their eyes, proceeded and conducted another interview to accomplish the mission of the Ag provost.

“Similarly, last week through their councel in an open Court hearing that they should not prejudice the pending case which has been reserved for judgement, but deliberately the governing council on 22/05/2023, conducted another interview ignoring directives of the law.

“We are therefore calling on the Honourable Minister of Education to call FCET Gusau Governing Council and Acting Provost to order” the statement concluded.
