As the date for the Election into the vacant seat of Zamfara State House of Assembly for Bakura constituency draws nearer, the state police command in collaboration with other security agencies said it would deal with any politician caught destrupting  the peaceful conduct of the election slated to hold on December 5th next month.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, the commissioner of police, Alhaji Usman Nagogo said, the state Police command, in collaboration with other security agencies was fully prepared to ensure hitch-free and fair election.

Nagogo declared that the security agents would do everything possible to give an enabling environment to the voters during and after the election, warning however that, “the security agents would not take it lightly and would decent heavily on anybody caught trying to bring confusion during the election.

He stressed that  all that were required to make the election free and fair were provided, stressing that “the security of INEC staffers and their electoral materials including voters has been  taken with all seriousness by the security agencies in the state”.

The commissioner maintained that as security personnel they would remain apolitical adding that “we are only expected to provide equal treatment to all politicians, irrespective of their party affiliation. 

The Commissioner also warned that, there was going to be restrictions of movements like any other election with a view to creating conducive atmosphere throughout the election period.

He called on all the stakeholders to be law abiding and respect electoral acts, concluding that, “the security agents would give them maximum security for the success of the election.
