From Maiharaji Altine Gusau
The Zamfara State Government in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) will work together to end the insecurity in the state and other states in Northern Nigeria.
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Zamfara State on the activities of NGOs in the state, Dr. Asalam Aliyu, at a special meeting of the leaders in Gusau, the state capital.
Dr. Asalam said some of the rampant cases of criminal activities in the rural areas of the state were as a result of infiltration of some foreign NGOs illegally operating in the state.
Some International NGOs according to Dr. Assalam only come to the country with the sole aim of stealing the vast wealth of the people of the country through creating unnecessary insecurity challenges.
She therefore urged all the NGOs operating in the state to keep a close eye on international NGOs entering the state to promote the activities of their organizations.
In his speech during the occasion, Comrade Abba Dankande Gusau, chairman of the Global Network for Islamic Justice in Zamfara State, said the organizations would closely monitor foreign organizations entering the state.
He said they would assist the security agencies with all their capabilities to end the current insecurity in Zamfara State.
