Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Nasiru Muazu Magarya have today received their Astra Zeneca vaccine injection.
Addressing journalists immediately after the injection, Governor Matawalle said “the vaccines are harmless based on the finding of the Health personal.
“I am therefore calling on the people of the state to come forward and receive the vaccines”.
Matawalle however maintained there was no compulsion regarding the vaccines, adding that, it was free for anybody wishing to receive the vaccines.
In his speech at the occasion, the state’s Commissioner of Health Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed Kanoma said, “about 55,920 doses of the vaccines have been brought to the state”.
Kanoma stressed that, 27,960 people would be vaccinated for the first round of vaccines, adding that, the exercise would be a continuous process until everybody was vaccinated.
He called on the people of the state to come forward and receive the vaccines, concluding that, “The vaccines are free”.
