Former Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari has mourned the death of an APC Governorship aspirant in the state in 2019 election, Alhaji Sagir Hamida who was Killed by bandits along Abuja-Kaduna highway.
This was contained in a statement issued to newmen in Gusau on Monday signed by the chairman, Publicity committee of Yari-led APC faction, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Birnin Magaji.
Yari described the death of Sagir Hamida as a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to the entire people of the state and the nation in general.
“Sagir Hamida left a great position difficult to fill, considering his contributions to the unity in APC under my leadership as former Governor of the state”.
“On behalf of myself and the entire APC members under the leadership of Alhaji Lawal Liman, we extend our condolences to the immediate family of the deceased and the entire people of the state.”
“May the Almighty Allah grant Aljannatul Firdausi to Sagir Hamida and forgive his shortcomings and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
The Analyzer news gathed that, Sagir Hamida was shot dead by the bandits along Abuja-Kaduna road around 2 o’clock in the afternoon of last Sunday, while over 40 passengers were said to have been abducted.
Hamida, acccording to report was shot in the chest by the bandits when his driver was trying to make a u-turn where he died on the spot.
His orderly was abducted, while his driver escaped into the forest.
The road is the most deadliest road in the Northwest region where kidnapping and armed robbery are always on the increase, despite the presence of the security personnel deployed on the road.
