Threat letter: Zamfara CP deploys security to churches, mosques

The Zamfara state police command has assured the christains community in the state that, the police would give them adequate security, following a threat letter written by unknown persons of a plan to attack churches in Gusau town.

Addressing newsmen in Gusau on Tuesday, the commissioner of police CP Ayuba N. Elkana said, the letter was dropped at the police headquarters in Gusau, adding that, the police were yet to ascertain where it came from.

“We are yet to ascertain where the letter came from, but considering the current situation in the country, we will not just sit down and overlook the content of the letter”.

“We are going to deploy adequate security to all churches and even mosques during prayer sessions and services”.

“I have directed that adequate security personnel should be deployed to churches and even the mosques from next Friday”.
