The Zamfara State House of Assembly has re-ittrated its commitment and determination to fight to the core ,the menace of bribery and corruption that have been posing a lot of challenge to the growth and development of the state.

This assurance was made today by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya while receiving the Executive Members of non governmental Organisations.
In a statement, the Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations of the House, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura said the NGOs included Muryar Talaka Awareness initiative as well as Arewa Reserch and development centre that organised a walk away Rally as part of activities marking a global war against corruption.
Speaker Magarya who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy House leader and chairman House Committee on justice and judiciary Hon Nasiru Bello lawal Bungudu,said both the House and these two respected non governmental Organisations are on the same page in the quest of fighting corruption in the state.
Speaker Magarya further explained that the 6th Assembly under his leadership has succeeded in passing more than forty bills into law of which include srapping of jumbo pay for former governors and their deputies,q former speakers and their deputies that the House viewed as corrupt tendencies.
The state chief lawmaker also stated that the House had since passed into law Bureau of public procurement formally known as due process with the sole aim of awarding contract and doing government business transparently.
To crown it all the Speaker told the gathering that as the world marks war against corruption today worldwide, to match word with action, Zamfara state House of Assembly has passed into law the much waited anti-corruption law.
He then congratulated the Non governmental Organisations particularly Muryar Talaka Awareness initiative for championing the course of fighting corruption in zamfara state that the House has fully complemented in this direction.
Earlier speaking the state co-ordinator of Muryar Talaka Awareness initiative comrade Hafizu Balarabe said corruption has become a serious menace in the state hence the need to fight it head on.
He also saluted the courage of the speaker Magarya led House of Assembly for attaining this height of credible legislation and and urge them to maintain the tempo.
Also speaking the state Director of Arewa Reserch and development project, Mustapha Hassan Musa said this global crusade of corruption fight is a fight for all therefore all hands must be on deck to block all traces that will lead to corruption.
In his remarks a permanent commissioner in the state anti-corruption commission Malam Naziru Ibrahim Budah said his commission will not relent efforts in this giant stride of fighting corruption saying the issue of fighting corruption is a noble course .
The event was attended by the the clerk of the House Alhaji Shehu Saidu Anka his Deputy Mallam Mahmud Aliyu and Host of others .
