The chairman, Publicity committee of the former Governor Yari faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Birnin Magaji said, linking Yari to Shi,ite or its leader El-Zakzaky was politically motivated aimed at denting his (Yari’s) political image.

In a statement, Birnin-magaji said, those associating former Governor Yari to Shi,ite group were doing so in order to spoil his bright political future especially at this point in time when he was seen as the ‘only alternative’ for the position of the National Chairman of the APC.

He said, “The attention of the APC under Former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has been drawn to a recent photoshop publication currently trending in the Social Media depicting the pictures of Shi’ite Leader in Nigeria, Malam Ibrahim El’zakzaky and Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar in an attempt to paint him(Yari) as Shi’a Sect adherent”.

“The move initiated by Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s adversaries was aimed at marring his bright political future especially at this point in time when he is seen as the ‘only alternative’ for the position of National Chairman in the build up to APC National Convention”.

Birnin-Magaji observed that the project being implemented by some amateurs in the ‘Art of Religious deception’ also linked its emergence to two prominent figures of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari faction with a view to giving it credence.

“Though they left  traces of their appearance in the photoshop episode”.

“Because at the beneath, it is a political poster sponsored by a politician belonging to a particular faction battling with former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar faction”. Lamented Birnin-Magaji.

“We want to say without fear of contradiction that, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is a Sunni Muslim who doesn’t hide his religious belief no matter the situation”.

“He has never at any time belonged to Shi’ite sect for any reason unlike his adversaries who use religious politics to cover their weaknesses”.

He called on Yari’s political adverseries to come up with an evidence to prove themselves that the former Governor belonged to Shi,ite group.

“Instead of resorting to this old fashioned way of demeaning the popularity of the former Governor, we admonish you to work hard and match your words with actions so that the electorates will feel the better part of your leadership skills”.  Concluded Birnin-Magaji.
