The immediate past Governor of Zamfara state, Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has charged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to continue to remain committed in ensuring the success of the party come 2023.
In a statement by the party’s Publicity secretary Yusuf Idris, the former Governor made the charge in his hometown of Talata Mafara on Monday at stakeholders meeting with high ranking members of the party from Zamfara Central Senatorial Zone.
While describing the stakeholders as the foot soldiers of the party, Yari said they should leverage on their closeness to the people and strive to mobilize more supporters to the party.
He said similar meeting would be held in all the zones through polling units and local government areas so that there would be complete team work throughout the state assuring that nobody would be left out.
Yari who is the Zamfara West Senatorial candidate, reiterated that the unity which brought all the political bigwigs of the state under one roof as a family, was also meant to be replicated at all levels for the benefit of the state.
He said, ”The unity must not be seen as the sole affairs of the leaders but the concern of all those wishing for the growth and development of Zamfara state”.
According to him, it’s only when all the citizens of the state come together that they can contribute meaningfully to moving the state to greatness that will be beneficial to future generations.
In his speech during the meeting, the state’s APC chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani commended the unity and cohesion achieved in the party.
He urged the stakeholders to sustain the tempo for the growth and development of the state.
The chairman who appraised the Zonal rally earlier organized for Yari’s Senatorial bid which held in Mafara yesterday, noted that the mammoth crowd of supporters that graced the event was an indication that APC would sweep off all the votes come 2023 for a landslide victory.
Danfulani who reiterated that the unity achieved was also in the interest of Zamfara and its future, said he would always support all moves to make APC more formidable.
He also promised to continue to mobilize support ahead of the general elections.
Earlier in a welcome address, the former state chairman of the party, Hon. Lawal M. Liman Gabdon Kaura reaffirmed that the unity of members of the party would remain non negotiable.
He described yesterday’s rally organized for Yari’s Senatorial bid as one of the indicators that APC was the only formidable party in the state.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Musa Bawa Musa, the immediate past APC Chairman Hon. Lawali M Liman and his Secretary Hon. Sani Musa Talata Mafara, State Deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri, Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka, Organising Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad and the State Woman Leader, Hajiya Aisha Waziri Maru
Others included Hon.Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, Hon. Umar Jibo Bukkuyum, Alhaji Sani Gwamna Mayanchi, APC chairmen as well as sole administrators of Gusau, Maru,Bungudu and Tsafe.
