This was made known by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun at the 2023 Summit on Girl Child organized by the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to commemorate International Girl Child Day.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Habibu Yalwa said the Girl Child Education was at the forefront of the State Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal Rescue Mission and will continue receiving more consideration.

Dr. Nafisa further said the Ministry will continue providing opportunities to Girls in the State and increase level of awareness for gender inequality and stereotype they were facing.

In a remark, the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Malan Wadatau Madawaki who was represented by the Deputy Director Private Schools, Maryam Anka called for equal rights and treatment to all Girls.

He also advised Girls in the State to always attend School to acquire knowledge that will enable them to contribute their quota to the development of our nation.

Speaking at the occasion, the State Coordinator Agile Project Implementation Unit, Hajia Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau revealed that the Agile project has come to positively change the condition of girls Child Education in the State.

In closing remarks, the Director Child Development, Hajiya Hauwa’u Tukur appreciated the efforts of the State Governor Lawal and his wife, the First Lady Hajiya Huriya for their immensed contribution and support to child development programmes in the State.
