Zamfara Assembly to inject adequate funds for developmental projects in next year’s budget

The Speaker, Zamfara state House of Assembly, Right Honorable Nasiru Muazu Magarya has reiterated that the house would inject more founds in 2021 budget for the continuation of capital intensive projects embarked upon by the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.

Speaker state House of Assembly Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya made the assertion yesterday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the proposed site of cargo International airport along kaura-Namoda Road in Gusau as part of the legislatures oversight function .

In a statement, the Director General Press Affairs to the House, Alhaji Mustafa Jafaru kaura said Speaker Magarya expressed delight with the quality of work done so far at the project site.

The Speaker assured that his leadership would left appropriate more money in the 2021 budget not only to the cargo international airport but to other capital intensive projects so as to change the narrative of Zamfara to a more viable state of  the federation. 

He commended the contractors handling the project for a job well done, urging them to maintain the tempo by completing the job within the stipulated time framework.

Conducting the speaker round the vast project site, the Zonal Manager of Avic international engineering Nigeria limited, Mr Sixun Gong told the leadership of the House that heavy downpour experienced this year was responsible for the delay in commencing the excavation work on time.

He however assured that work has commenced in earnest at the site in the last 40 days  with the construction of access dual carriageway and a befitting gate pass among other ongoing projects.

 Mr Gong also took the Speaker and his team to the proposed wing of cargo International Airport, a parking area, domestic wing of the airport a tarmac as well as control tower of the two airports.
Mr Sixun Gong while appreciating the concern shown by the leadership of the House for the oversight visit, expressed his company’s readiness in finishing the project within 18 months completion period and also to abide by the bill of quantity.

While allying fears of incompetence of his company to handle the job, Mr Gong told the Speaker that his company solely constructed Addis Ababa international airport  in Ethopia one of the best airport in Africa.

In another development, Speaker Magarya was also a Special guest at the youths  entrepreneurship graduation scheme of Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha Gusau where women and youths were trained on  different trades and become self reliant as part of Senator’s efforts to reduce redundancy and joblessness in the society.
 The speaker was accompanied in the two functions by the House leader, Hon Faruk Musa Dosara, his Deputy, Hon Nasiru Bello lawal Bungudu, Hon Nasiru Atiku Gora and Hon Aliyu Namaigora Danjibga.
