A former Executive Director, First Bank plc Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare has emerged people’s Democratic party, PDP governortorial candidate in Zamfara State.
Dare got 431 votes to defeated his opponents, Ibrahim Shehu Gusau and Wadatau Madawaki who got 5 and 3 votes respectively in the state.
Announcing the result, the chairman, primary election committee sent to the state by the PDP National headquarters, Ambassador Adamu Maina Waziri said the election was free and fair.
Waziri maitained that Lawal Dare was the winner of the primary election, as such, be became the PDP flag bearer in the state.
He commended the delegates for displaying high sense of maturity during the election, calling on those who lost the election to support the party’s flag bearer in order to win the state in 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the occasion, the Zamfara state PDP Chairman, Col. Bala Mande (rtd) described the election as peaceful and orderly.
