Gurjiya, Gadas Communities Cry Out Over Lack Of Social Aminities, Urge Kaduna Govt To Come To Their Aid

Provision of basic social amenities is one of the factors of improving socio economic development of rural communities.

But Gurjiya and Gadas communities in kargi district of Kubau local government area in Kaduna state are left behind in benefiting from dividend of democracy .

Our correspondent visited the communities and witnessed the difficulties facef by such communities .

The only road which started from Tashar Adamu along Anchau road to gurjiya Gadas about eighty kilometers is not motorable only leaving members of the communities to use motorcycles in transporting patients to neighboring Tudun-wadan Dankade local government in kano state and goods to market.

The communities have been calling on the Kaduna state government to construct bridge on kutunku river that links kutunku, Gurjiya , Gadas to Tashar Adamu and Anchau road.

Speaking to our reporter, the chairman Gadas Youths Development Association, Adamu Dauda kutunku narrated the series of difficulties faced by the entire communities which include lack potable drinking water, health facilities, good roads and construction of bridge over kutunku river .

Adamu said if they have patients or pregnant woman about to deliver they spend two to three day before crossing the kutunku river to visit hospital at neighbouring local government of Tudun wadan Dankade in kano state.

He added that due to lack of motorable road and bridge at kutunku river they always carry their goods to market at Tudun wadan Dankade in kano state.

Also speaking, one of the elders in Gurjiya community Mr, Isyaku Masama Gadas said they have only one primary school in Gurjiya Gadas constructed since 1947 which is now in need of urgent renovation.

Malam Ibrahim Yakubu Ban Gwani who is the vice chairman of Gadas Development Association said many politicians had promised to provide basic social amenities during electioneering campaigns but no one fulfilled their promises.

Investigation showed that kutunku ,Gurjiya Gadas and Tashar Adamu communities predominantly farmers , believed that if the state government could come to their aid by constructing a bridge at kutunku river, road from Tashar Adamu to such communities, it will improve their living standard.
